I love plants - and sharing the love.

BIOL 210 - Intro to Northern Botany

This is a second year course at Yukon University offered in the fall semester. We cover the features of Kingdom Plantae in the first half and then explore a wide range of topics specific to northern plants including human uses. The lab focuses on plant identification skills required for botanical careers, harvesting adventures and general enjoyment of our flora!

Seed Collection Workshops

People collect seeds all the time and have since time immemorial. It’s one thing if you want to make blueberry jam, but quite another if you want to grow a blueberry plant. Location, timing and handling can make a significant difference on germination success. I offer 1-5 day workshops on seed collection tailored to the group’s interest.

Customized Training

The more people out there with plant identification and revegetation skills, the better in my opinion. I have offered two hour to multi-day hands-on training sessions for a diverse range of participants: community members, environmental technicians, high school students. This can be part of a larger project or a standalone session.
